Marketing Materials need to answer 3 questions:
1. What is the problem?
2. What is the solution?
3. What product or service does biowulf offer which makes them unique and valuable?

Possible answers to what is biowulf's product:
Embedded software modules
Embedded software plug-ins
Domain specific analytical software

2 Models:
Sensor Model versus Data Model
Sensor Model: Royalties for use, license the tech, retain intellectual property, "reach-thru" royalties on results.

Data Model: Outsourcing solution for bio-tech companies, data analysis, server-side solutions, subscriptions, fee for use, etc..

BIOwulf does 3 things:
1.BIOwulf co-develops domain-specific, dedicated software with medical instrumentation companies that provides an intelligent front end.

2. BIOwulf creates CAD tools, or design tools that make products.

3. BIOwulf works with BIOtech companies looking to outsource data analysis.

Michael, Julie, and Isabelle are putting together the content for the web site and brochure. They have a good start on this already, and will be feeding us more as the week goes on.

The flash presentation needs further development. the existing presentation will be used as a basis for 2 new presentations. One will focus on the business/finance model for the company to be used when meeting with investors. The other will be science/math oriented to gain exposure in the technical circles. This work does not have immediate priority, however, it may be needed by end of june.

Tuesday, June 5

Begin development of framework for corporate web site. Establish look and feel of homepage, then create templates for other pages to fit into.


Getting good initial feedback from the above home page ideas, michael likes the layered imagery in the top left corner of background5b.jpg.

BIOwulf wants a moniker similar to the "intel inside" idea. Part of future licensing agreements would be that this moniker must be displayed with results gained from using biowulf technologies. The term "biowulf enabled" is well liked by several members of the biowulf team.

The image in the lower right side corner resembles a key, which could work fairly well, as the kernel could be considered a custom key to the svm engine.
